- 2FA(Two-factor authentication)
-
Two-factor authentication: a second check, such as a code from an app on your phone, needed as well as your password to log in. Keep it linked to your own device.
- Account access
-
The ability to log in to or act on a creator’s account, for example to post or reply to messages. The safest access is the least that is needed, given in a way the creator can remove at any time.
- ARPU(Average revenue per user)
-
Average revenue per user: total earnings in a period divided by the number of paying subscribers. It shows how much a typical fan spends, including subscriptions, pay-per-view and tips.
- Churn
-
The share of subscribers who do not renew in a period. High churn means a page has to keep finding new fans just to stand still.
- Commission
-
The share of earnings an agency charges for its work. The percentage matters, and so does what it is worked out on (gross or net) and what it includes. It should be agreed in writing and shown on every statement.
- Faceless creator
-
A creator who never shows their face in their content or promotion. It shapes what they make and where they promote, and is often chosen for privacy.
- Funnel
-
The path a fan takes from first seeing you, for example on social media, to visiting your page, subscribing and renewing. Improving a funnel means finding the step where most people drop off.
- Gross earnings
-
Everything fans pay on your page in a period, before the platform takes its fee.
- Leak
-
Paid content shared somewhere without the creator’s permission. The creator usually owns the copyright and can ask for it to be removed.
- Management agency
-
A business that runs parts of a creator’s page for them in return for a fee, usually a share of what the page earns. A good agreement leaves the account, the content and the payouts with the creator.
- Net earnings
-
What reaches you after the platform has taken its fee. A commission worked out on net earnings is smaller than the same percentage worked out on gross.
- OFM(OnlyFans management)
-
Short for OnlyFans management: the work of running the business side of a creator’s page, such as promotion, planning, pricing, messaging support and admin. It is also used for the agencies that offer it.
- Payout
-
Money the platform sends from your earnings to your bank or payment account. Payouts should always go straight to the creator, never through an agency.
- PPV(Pay-per-view)
-
Pay-per-view: content a fan pays to unlock individually, on top of any subscription, often sent in a message.
- Renewal rate
-
The share of subscribers who renew when their subscription ends. It is the other side of churn, and a good sign that fans value what they get.
- Subscriber conversion
-
The share of people who visit your page and go on to subscribe. It shows how well your profile, preview and price persuade visitors.
- Takedown notice(DMCA notice)
-
A formal request asking a website or search engine to remove content that infringes your copyright. It is often called a DMCA notice, after the United States law many hosts follow.
