What does promoting an OnlyFans page involve?

Which channels can send people to my page?

What do the published rules actually say?
At a high level, Reddit’s content policy (external site) allows some adult content where it is marked correctly, and each community then sets its own rules on promotion. Instagram’s Community Guidelines (external site) do not allow nudity or sexual solicitation. TikTok’s Community Guidelines (external site) restrict sexual content and can count directing people to adult sites against you. For X, check X’s current rules and media policy before you post, including what they say about adult content.
There is a lot of anecdote about what platforms secretly allow or punish. Some of it is true for a while, much of it is guesswork, and all of it goes out of date. Base your plan on the published rules, read them again every few months, and treat anything else as unconfirmed.
How do collaborations work?
A collaboration means another creator introduces you to their audience, and you do the same for them. It works best between creators with similar niches and audiences of a similar size.
Anyone who appears in content must be an adult who has agreed in writing, and each platform has its own terms on featuring other people. Check the platform’s terms before you post anything that includes someone else, and agree in writing how shared content will be used.
How do I know which channel is working?
Give every channel its own trackable link, and on Reddit consider one per community. Then compare clicks, new subscribers and, after a month, their renewal rate. A channel that sends lots of visitors who never subscribe is worth less than a quiet one with strong subscriber conversion.

Why do I need backup channels?
Accounts can be restricted or removed, sometimes by mistake. If one platform sends all your visitors, one decision by that platform can stop your growth overnight. Spread your effort across at least two channels, and build one you own.
An email list is one channel you own. In the UK, sending marketing emails generally needs the person’s consent, and the Information Commissioner’s Office (external site) publishes guidance on the rules. What are the red flags in promotion advice?
- Tricks to avoid being detected, such as disguising links or words to get past a platform’s rules.
- Bots, bought followers, bought votes or engagement groups.
- Running several accounts to get around a ban or a community limit.
- Promises of a set number of subscribers from a promotion package.
- Advice that says a platform’s rules do not really matter.
- Posting other people’s content, or content featuring someone, without written permission.
